The PipCoach Companion puts Pip — your AI trading coach — right on your MetaTrader 4 or 5 chart. Ask about the exact setup in front of you and get answers grounded in your real Pipstone account: your linked trades, your analytics, your journal. It is strictly non-trading and read-only — it never places, closes, or modifies orders, and never touches your funds. How to install
- 1 Link your broker account at pipstone.ai first — the Companion runs on an account you’ve linked (linking also turns on cashback)
- 2 Download the build for your platform using the button above — PipCoachCompanion.ex5 for MetaTrader 5, or PipCoachCompanion.ex4 for MetaTrader 4
- 3 In MetaTrader, open File → Open Data Folder, then copy the file into MQL5\Experts\ (MT5) or MQL4\Experts\ (MT4)
- 4 Back in MetaTrader, right-click the Navigator and choose Refresh (or restart the terminal)
- 5 Enable Algo Trading (MT5) / Auto Trading (MT4) from the toolbar
- 6 Drag 'PipCoach Companion' from the Navigator onto any chart of your linked account
- 7 Allow WebRequest for both Pipstone hosts: open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors → 'Allow WebRequest for listed URL' and add https://admin.pipstone.ai and https://license.pipstone.ai (the Experts tab also prints the exact URLs it needs), then re-attach the Companion
- 8 Pip appears on your chart — confirm it shows 'connected', then ask it about your current setup
Settings & parameters
- Show the PipCoach chat panel: on by default (InpShowPanel)
- Panel corner: where Pip sits on the chart (InpCorner — defaults to upper-right)
- No API keys needed — it uses the Pipstone account you've already linked (InpNote)
- API host: pre-configured for production (InpApiBase = admin.pipstone.ai) — no change needed
- License host: pre-configured (InpLicenseBase = license.pipstone.ai) — whitelist it alongside the API host
Frequently asked questions
Can the Companion trade my account?
No. The Companion is strictly non-trading and read-only. It reads your account so Pip's coaching is grounded in your real trades — it cannot place trades, close trades, modify orders, or move funds. There is no code path for that.
What does Pip actually know about my trading?
Pip's answers are grounded in your real Pipstone account — your linked trades, your analytics, and your journal — plus the live chart you're on. That's what lets it talk through the exact setup in front of you instead of giving generic advice.
Do I need to link my broker account first?
Yes. The Companion runs on an account you’ve linked to Pipstone. Linking takes about a minute and also turns on cashback. Once linked, install the Companion to put Pip on your chart.
Does it auto-fill my analytics and journal?
Automatic trade-sync from the Companion is rolling out next. Today it focuses on the on-chart coach, grounded in the account data already synced to Pipstone. Your analytics and journal stay current through your linked account.
Is it available for MetaTrader 4?
Yes. The Companion is available for both MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 — download the build that matches your terminal (.ex4 for MT4, .ex5 for MT5). Both versions are identical in features: the same on-chart Pip coach, grounded in your linked Pipstone account.
Why does it ask for WebRequest access?
The Companion talks to Pipstone securely over HTTPS to power the on-chart coach. You allow two URLs once under Tools → Options → Expert Advisors — https://admin.pipstone.ai and https://license.pipstone.ai. It uses no DLLs.
Will it slow down my terminal?
No. It's lightweight and runs quietly in the background with negligible impact on performance.
